The American Musical is a uniquely American phenomenon. And the men and women who made it what it is are just as unique and memorable.
The show pays tribute to the great Jewish writers and stars of musical theatre. There will be evocations of everyone from Al Jolson & Fanny Brice to Zero Mostel & Barbra Steisand as well as tributes to writers from Irving Berlin to Richard Rodgers to Jonathan Larson (RENT). The evening likewise spotlights classic musicals ranging from GUYS AND DOLLS and WEST SIDE STORY to WICKED.
Slated to perform are Broadway veterans, Stephen Berger, Leah Horowitz, Jonathan Kaplan, and Neva Small. The show will be directed by Michael Goldfried, with continuity by Michael Colby, musical direction by Michael Lavine, and casting by Daryl Eisenberg.
